Green buildings

Our highly efficient PORT Technology Destination Control System puts one lift out of a group in full-sleep mode during off-peak periods with fast re-start. Our regenerative drive systems feed electricity back to the grid without harmonic distortion. Combined with waste management during installation, our systems can contribute substantially to your customers achieving green building certification. Schindler has registered Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) at the “International EPD® System” for all major lift product lines, taking an important step further in the assessment of the environmental performance of our products, underlining our continuous efforts towards sustainable solutions.

Heron Tower, London

The Heron Tower project was awarded to Schindler in 2008 and in 2010 Schindler completed.

The building is 202m high and has 53 floors comprising office space, bars and restaurants. Schindler was responsible for installing:

• Two Schindler 7000 Scenic high-rise, double-deck lifts with the Schindler Transit Management System (PORT Technology), Speed 7 m/s, load 2 x 1600 kg, travel 157m
• Two Schindler 7000 high-rise, double-deck lifts with the Schindler Transit Management System (PORT Technology), Speed 7 m/s, load 2 x 1600 kg, travel 157m
• Three Schindler 7000 Scenic mid-rise, double-deck lifts with the Schindler Transit Management System (PORT Technology), Speed 3.5 m/s, load 2 x 1600 kg, travel 87m
  
• Two Schindler 7000 mid-rise, double-deck lifts with the Schindler Transit Management System (PORT Technology), Speed 3.5 m/s, load 2 x 1600 kg, travel 87m
