Schindler has registered Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) at the “International EPD® System” for all major lift product lines, taking an important step further in the assessment of the environmental performance of our products, underlining our continuous efforts towards sustainable solutions.
This unique tower designed by Ian Simpson Architects features nine Schindler lifts. The building is split into part residential and part Hilton hotel with separate lift systems serving each element. We installed two Schindler 7000 Passenger Lifts to serve the highest rise residential sector of the building. These lifts operate at 3.5 m/s. The hotel features three Schindler 7000 Passenger Lifts operating at 3.5 m/s with a further single Schindler 7000 Express Lift serving the exclusive Sky Bar area. To support the operation of the Hotel and serve the residential sector, we have installed a further three freight lifts.
Our Schindler 5500 passenger lifts in the aquaTurm Hotel work with energy recovery, converting braking energy into electricity. In addition, its drive technology consumes 30 percent less energy than comparable lifts. Energy-saving LED lighting and a 50 percent reduction in the weight of the drive and suspension elements, compared to conventional systems with steel cables, further minimise energy consumption.
